By inspiration of the Spirit of God, Paul wrote this first letter to Timothy and treated church order in the house of God. This divine order is not only related to the assembly of God, but should be a hallmark of every Christian – whether man or woman, married or unmarried, young or old. In Paul’s second epistle to Timothy, he wrote of “perilous times” due to the failure of the people which led to disorder and decay. Particularly at this time of decay Paul writes to Timothy to instruct, exhort and encourage him to cling to the Word of God: “But continue thou in the things you have learned and what you are completely confident and that you know, from whom you have learned … All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for guidance, for reproof, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” (2 Timothy 3.14 to 17)
A very useful guide to better understand these two letters to Timothy.
